PROJECT
Lehigh Hanson Canada Concrete CCS Project
In Planning
Technology Owner:
About: Feasibility study of a full-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) project as a definitive solution to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by Lehigh Hanson Cement and the International CCS Knowledge Centre.
The study targets the feasibility to capture the majority of the carbon dioxide (CO2) from the flue gas of Lehigh’s Edmonton, Alberta cement plant significantly reducing its process and combustion GHG emissions. The study will encompass engineering designs, cost estimation (at an AACE Class 4) and a fulsome business case analysis. The study will target a 90-95% CO2 capture rate.
Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA) invested $1.4 million in the study.
Application: Industrial Capture
Type: Post-Combustion
Utilization:
Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Partners: Lehigh Hanson Cement, International CCS Knowledge Centre, Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA)
