About: Upwelling technology brings up nutrients that have settled at the bottom of the ocean to the surface, where phytoplankton absorb the dissolved CO2 and produce oxygen. This also sends particulate organic carbon contained in the upper ocean to below 400m, where it will be out of contact with the atmosphere for decades.
